Melvin R. Sluss, 84, of Naples, Florida, died Monday evening February 6, 2012, at Naples Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1927 to Raymond and Viola (Bixler) Sluss. He graduated from Louisville Ohio High School in 1945, and then served in the U.S. Army. After serving in the Army he worked for Southwestern Bell where he retired. He enjoyed Golf, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indian’s fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris (Peacock) Sluss, his brothers; Olen Sluss, Gerald Sluss and Sister Eileen Atkinson.
He is survived by his Brothers; Dale (Alice) Sluss, Marion Sluss and sister-in-law Juanita Sluss. step children; Karen (John) Herrington, Michael (Cheryl) Rinehart, Jeffery Rinehart, Lisa Ebron, Lori (Scott) Frady, Grandchildren; Duane, Kristen, Michael, Danny, Katie, Patrick and John. Along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 17 2012, at 12:30, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas 77598.
