Michael Deaton, 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2020. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on October 20, 1938 to Benton and Sophia Deaton. Michael was married to the love of his life, Linda, for 34 years.
Michael worked for NASA as an operations supervisor. He was an active member of The Independent Order of Foresters, University of Houston Alumni Association, life member of St. Thomas High School Alumni Association, a member in good standing of the Texas Golf Association and a founding member of the Bandits Golf Club.
Michael loved being active. He enjoyed playing golf, being involved in the NASA space program, cooking chili for the chili cook-off and grilling outdoor for his family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his son, Michael “Butch” Deaton and his daughter, Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Herrington.
He will be missed and forever loved by his wife, Linda Nell Deaton; his daughters, Deborah Little-Bloom (Keith), Margie Kinchen (Kevin); step-children, Tracy Whatley (Christopher), Warren Ward (Dianna) and Winona Hausman (Stephen). He also leaves behind thirteen wonderful grandchildren and ten beautiful great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM all at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
The family welcomes a memorial contribution to The Alzheimer’s Association as an expression of condolences in lieu of flowers.
