

Michael “Mike” Anthony Ebert, 79, of League City, Texas, passed away on November 28, 2025. He was born on December 22, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew into a man defined by integrity, curiosity,and unwavering dedication to his family.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University and spent his entire career in the construction field, a profession he approached with passion and had no intention of ever retiring. Mike loved to teach, always ready to explain a concept with a story, a lesson,or a quick sketch on a napkin from his pocket. His philosophy was rooted in the belief that teaching someone how to understand the world was far more valuable than solving a problem for them.
He was an avid reader, lover of history, a natural storyteller, and a source of knowledge on nearly any topic. His sharp wit and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. Mike never met a stranger and was respected not only for his expertise but also for his kindness, humility, and the joy he found in everyday life. His kindness was also reflected in his lifelong habit of helping others and his continual commitment to charitable giving.
A devout Catholic throughout his life, Mike was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His life reflected a steadfast devotion to God, evident in the grace and sincerity of his words and actions.
Mike is survived by his beloved family: Lois Ebert, his soulmate and the mother of his children with whom he shared a lifelong bond of respect and friendship, his children Sean Ebert, Stacy Ebert, Kristin Ethington, and Ryan Ebert, and his grandchildren Kendall Levin, Reagan Turrentine, Brody Ethington,Carter Ethington, and Eils Ebert. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Nabozny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Milton Ebert, and his brother, David Ebert.
Mike’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
