Former Principal of Phước Lễ School, Bà Rịa, Việt Nam
Born on May 12, 1924 in Hòa Long, Bà Rịa, Việt Nam and passed away on May 31, 2025 in
Houston, Texas.
As the eldest sister in a middle-class family, Mother was lucky to pursue education for almost her
entire life. She was very successful in her teaching career and received many noble medals from
the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Vietnam.
She had taught many students who went on to become very successful, yet they always loved
and remembered her fondly regardless where they live, in Vietnam, the United States, or other
countries.
When she was young, going through many hardships when her parents died, as the eldest sister,
she had to take care of her family members until their adulthood.
Fate is cruel. After the change of political regime in April of 1975, like many others, Mother had
to experience a lot of suffering. She had to go to a re-education camp because she was an
educator but fortunately was finally released.
Going back to the rural life, Mother always had to struggle as she had to take care of her family
so that her children could eat well, be dressed warmly as they patiently waited for Dad to return
home after years of hard work in the Communist concentration camp.
Finally, after the storm, the sun was shining again. In 1986, Father, Mother and their children were
reunited in the United States. Mother was able to live peacefully and happily with Dad, her
children and grandchildren in this wonderful, free country. However, deep down, her heart still
belonged to her homeland, and she always looked forward to one day being able to go back and
live in her old hometown.
Mother, now that you had left and would not be able to return and live in your homeland, please
know that we always understand and “feel” your dream and your wishes. We hope that one day,
your dream would come true. Father and you would be happily reunited, even if it is thousands
of miles away.
Farewell, Mother. We always love you and miss you.
