

NICK SANTARCANGELO, 87, from Pearland, Texas, passed peacefully on June 21, 2013, after a 12 year struggle with stroke related complications. A lifelong resident of Houston, Texas and surrounding area, he has lived in Pearland for the last 23 years. Nick was born in Houston on February 4, 1926 to Nunzio and Vittoria Santarcangelo. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Michaeline Triola Santarcangelo; daughter, Gina Santarcangelo Crawford her husband Warren Galen Crawford and their son Scott Crawford: son, John Santarcangelo, his wife Kimberly Hatten Santarcangelo and their children Nicolas Santarcangelo, Austin Santarcangelo and step children James Hatten and Brian Hatten and their 3 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rocco Santarcangelo, sister Camille Arfele and sister Mary Camarata.
Nick and Michaeline were married in Houston, Texas on June 26, 1949 and remained deeply devoted throughout his struggle and passing. Nick served as a Private First Class during WWII. He was a successful entrepreneur, a good listener, a kind and generous friend who spent time helping friends and family with handyman projects, wood working, cooking spaghetti sauce and making Italian sausage. Nick loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, grilling, camp fires and animals of all kinds. Nick was an inspiring and dedicated father. He was much admired and loved by his children and grandchildren. He was famous for the joke of the day and always easy with a hearty laugh. He threw great parties, loved music and dancing and made sure there was always more than enough of everything for everyone. He had a twinkle in his eyes that told you how much he loved and cared about you. It was still there even after he wasn’t able to communicate it any other way.
