Norman Earl Raney

Norman E. “Bubba” Raney, 86, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born on May 12, 1930, Houston, TX. to Loraine A. and Ira D. (Tony) Raney. He had one brother, Ira D. Raney Jr. and one sister, Barbara Kaye Raney, all deceased.

He was an honorary member of East Gate and Park Place Masonic Lodge. For a short time, he was employed at Houston Light and Power Co. and did construction line work out of Local 66.

He attended Deady Middle School and Milby High School. He retired as a supervisor after 35yrs in the Electrical Division with the City of Houston.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 yrs, Rita C. Knupp Raney. He had 3 daughters and one son, Pattie Pettit, Vicki Collom, Caryn Foster, Craig Raney (Stephanie). He had 4 stepdaughters, Tina Uber, Robin Uber, Randi Castañeda (Michael), Charlene Weaver (Todd). He had 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many friends and associates.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
