

Pamela Van Hekken Bliss was born on January 30th, 1954 in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Anniston Alabama. She was one of three children born to James Robert Van Hekken and Dollie Hayes. Pamela passed away at the age of seventy two on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026 in Webster, Texas. She is survived by her son James, daughter-in-law Bethany, her three grandchildren Samantha, TJ, Arthur, brother James Robert (Bo), and nieces Stacey and Ashley. Pam was preceded in death by her sister Cynthia Latimer, as well as her good friend and former husband Mark Bliss.
Pam earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and was a published author in the genre of medieval romance. Pam was one of the first female bank managers in the city of Chicago. She worked for Microsoft for many years as part of their South American crisis management team.
Pam was an involved parent, serving as the Commissioner of the Bethel Park Little League, and working extra jobs to pay for James' sports, music lessons and other many activities. Pam was a loving grandparent, known as Magi to her grandchildren. Pam enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog Rei. She was an avid reader and passed that love along to her son and grandchildren. She enjoyed making her home and garden look beautiful. She was an early adopter of technology, and always had the latest and greatest of every device. Pam was a member and regular attender of the Dickinson First United Methodist Church.
Pam had a gift of making everyone around her feel special. Her life was rich and diverse. Pam will be missed by many people around the world.
A Celebration of Life for Pamela Bliss will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, March 21st 2026 at 1:00pm CST. 21620 Gulf fwy, Webster TX 77598
