Pamela Jean Wright Gonzalez died at home on September 16, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Pam was born in Manchester, England on January 11, 1944, to Alfred and Ellen (Ruddock) Wright. She emigrated from England to Texas in 1968, originally living in Houston before moving to Galveston in 1972. After arriving in Galveston, Pam met the love of her life, Robert Gonzalez, who she married in 1981.
Pam was a naturally talented artist and spent several years managing Fowles Art Gallery in Galveston. She worked for Continental Airlines and retired from American Indemnity Insurance Company in Galveston. After retirement, Pam spent as much time as she could with her grandsons and traveling the world with her husband, Robert. Pam was very proud of her English heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire, Sir Malcolm Sargent Chapter.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Ellen (Ruddock) Wright; sister Sylvia Walsh; brother-in-law Peter Walsh, and brother-in-law Ralph Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband Robert; daughters Vanessa Giusti (Jeff) and Nichole Hinde; grandsons Colin Giusti, Ethan Giusti and Brendan Hinde; sister Gillian Wright (John Callum); brothers David Wright (Julie Fingland) and Phillip Wright (Kathy); sisters-in-law Juanita Castillo, Sylvia Woods (Ron), Mary Gonzalez (Henry Vasquez) and brother-in-law Johnny Gonzalez; along with many nieces and nephews, and best friend Mary Gaston.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas on Saturday October 7, 2023, at 12pm.
