Pat was a housewife and loved her family. She had a passion for life, painting, gardening, birdwatching, she loved hummingbirds and all animals. She had lots of pets including chigger the raccoon. A few words to describe Pat would be loving, kind, sincere and sentimental.
Family has always been the most important to Pat. If you wanted to know family history or what went on yesterday, Pat could tell you. To her immediate family, she was the best wife, mother, sister and grandmother anyone could ask for. She was adored throughout the family tree and was always available to those in need. Through the years, Pat was called Mom by those that were not related. Late in life, Pat learned how to Facebook which allowed her to keep up with everything family. She thought it was the greatest thing. Pat never failed to send a card for every occasion.
Pat was a graduate of Lutheran High School, class of 1955. She retold many stories from her childhood, adventures and travels with her Mom and Dad, Doris and Niels and with her little brother Kenneth. In 1958, she married James “A.J” McNally and life’s new adventures began. More trips and stories then time and space allows revolved around camping, fishing, river riding, hunting and weekends to Galveston. One trip recalled was a white wing dove hunt in the valley. Sky full of Doves, Pat had an opportunity on a single and dropped it in one shot. She was very proud of her shining moment until a hunter down the line congratulated her on a great shot of that mockingbird.
As adventurous as she was, she enjoyed the simple things in life. When the mood was right, Pat was an excellent artist. Although her artwork was worthy, she had no interest in selling her art. Instead she took great pleasure in her paintings. Around the house she enjoyed her plants, squirrels, birds and fish pond. Every year she would let you know when a pair of ducks had returned to her pond. Pat was never without a pet, her last being her faithful shadow named Maggie. When Mother Nature did not cooperate, Pat enjoyed the warmth of a good book.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, A.J. “Jimmy” McNally; parents, Niels and Doris.
She is survived by son, Tim McNally; grandsons, James McNally, Jason McNally; brother, Kenneth Sorensen; great-grandson, Jaxton McNally; numerous nieces and nephews;
