Paul Harlen Englishbee, born January 9, 1933, in Columbus, Mississippi, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 16, 2019, in Houston, Texas.

He is the son of Barney Theodore Englishbee of Benton, Arkansas and Gladys Acker (McDaniel) Englishbee of Carolton, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Gladys, his older brother, Harold Ray Englishbee, his older sister, Doris Mae Englishbee, his first wife and mother to his children, Roberta Elizabeth Baker of Little Rock Arkansas, and his second wife, Betty Burrage Potter Englishbee of Encinitas, California.

He is survived by his younger sister, Mary Nell Hanagriff of Pasadena, Texas and her daughter Kathy Schultz (his niece) and son Christopher (his great nephew); his five children: son, Paul Wayne Englishbee of Tomball, TX and wife, Kelleye; daughter, Wilma Gladys Davis of Webster, TX; son, Carl Myron Englishbee of Webster, TX; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bremer of Houston (Clear Lake), TX and husband David (Red); son, Phillip Alan Englishbee of Austin, TX and partner, Jonathan; sister-in-law Debbie Starr and husband Stephen; stepson, Norman Potter of Encinitas, CA; stepdaughter, Linda Potter Dunbar of Republic, MO and her daughter Tori Valigura and husband Zach; six grandchildren: Morgane Rene Starr and spouse, Jennifer; Joshua Paul Englishbee and wife Sarina; Claire Elizabeth Bremer; Erin Olivia Barrera and husband Daniel; Kayla Nicole Englishbee and fiancé Sean Pitts; Jennette M. Englishbee; and three great grandchildren: Lucy Ruth Starr, Thatcher Garrett Starr, and Namid R. Englishbee, extended family, and a multitude of wonderful friends.

He joined the United States Army as a young lad and became a corporal and medic at the 21st Station Hospital in Pusan, Korea during the Korean War in 1953. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the UN Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the ROK Pres Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal.

He married on Christmas Eve, 1955 and he and his first wife, Roberta raised their five children in Pasadena, TX/Deer Park, TX. After she passed away from leukemia, he later remarried to Betty, and moved to Southern California. After she passed away, he moved back to Texas where he was then diagnosed with terminal cancer.

He started as a tool maker for Reed Roller Bit Company and was promoted to Manager over the Tool and Die Shop. Many years later he retired from Hughes Tool Company, where he was a Certified Professional Manufacturing Engineer and Technical Coordinator in the oil tool division for licensee and subsidiary services. He served as Chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and after retirement went on to work for the Home Depot, before remarrying and moving to Southern California.

He will be cherished by so many people and leaves quite a legacy for all who knew him, especially his beloved children. He was very patriotic, was known to cry upon hearing our National Anthem and loved America. He will be remembered as a man of the utmost integrity and pride for his country, family and friends.
