

Peggy was born on April 25, 1941 in Hong Kong, China to Seen-Po Yeung and Yee-To Leung. She moved to the United States in 1960 after studying Russian at a Chinese University and pursued a degree in sociology at Seattle University. On July 4, 1964 she married Herbert I. King, and they remained married for 50 years until his death. They raised a son and a daughter, Henry and Patricia.
Peggy earned her Texas Real Estate license in the late 1970’s and her broker’s license in the early 1980’s. She started King Real Estate International in Houston’s Chinatown in the mid-1980’s. She was a realtor for over twenty years.
In her retirement, Peggy joined Clear Lake Chinese Church was active in various church activities. She found comfort in God and caring community of friends that supported each other. Peggy had a passion for entertaining. She loved to sing and play the piano, guitar or accordion. She has sung Madame Butterfly in the famed Sydney Opera House and participated in many church and local choirs. She also enjoyed photography and has won several awards for the photos she has taken. She was known to entertain at parties with everyone gathered around the piano or sing one of her favorite songs, such as “The Impossible Dream” or “Ava Maria”. Always, the consummate host, she made sure everyone was welcomed, well fed and entertained.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, and brother, Richard Yeung. She is survived by her son Henry and his wife Yan, grandchildren Tyler, Hailey and Peyton; daughter Patricia King-Ritter and her husband Tom; grandchildren Luke, Kia and Elle; brother Tad Yeung and numerous nieces and nephews.
