After serving in the Marines, Raymond attended the University of Texas where he obtained a Bachelors Degree of Science in 1952. Following graduation he began his 40+ year career as an Electrical Engineer and worked for Diamond Shamrock, S.I.P and other companies. Raymond was a member of the American Legion, the Pasadena High School Alumni Association and was a member of the Pasadena High School Basketball State Champion Team in 1946. Raymond and his wife were also long time members of the Sunset United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas.
Raymond had a strong passion for sports and enjoyed coaching youth teams. His love for sports inspired him to create a church youth basketball league. He also played a very active role in his sons’ lives as they grew into adulthood.
He is preceded in death by parents Earl and Ben Erma Bond and brothers William Bond and Richard Bond. He is survived by his wife, Loveern Bond; his sons, Bruce (wife Cindy), Dale and Bill; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Bond, and Laura Fresch (husband Chris); one great granddaughter, Zoe Fresh; his brother, Weldon Bond.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Sunset United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 709 Allendale Rd, Pasadena, Texas 77502 or your favorite charity, in memory of Raymond E. Bond.
