Ricardo G. Martinez, 72, of Sweeny, Texas, passed away January 27, 2018. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 4, 1945 to Juan and Inocencia Martinez. He was married to Clara Martinez for 50 years. Richard worked in the oil and gas industry for Union Carbide, Mission and Miller transport.
Richard enjoyed listening to the Blues. He had a passion for photography; he also spent his time collecting knives and guns.
He was preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Juan and Daniel Martinez.
He is survived by wife, Clara Martinez; children, Richard Martinez, Jr. and Dalia C. Lopez; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and sister Hortencia Gonzalez.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. and interment in Forest Park East Cemetery.
