He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 28, 1931 to William David Hodges and Mattie Ella Hodges. He was married to Ruth Ganofsky Hodges for 50 years. Richard had a career in sales for Gulf Radiotelephone & Electronics. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had a passion for hunting and skeet shooting.
He was preceded in death by his father, William David Hodges; by his mother, Mattie Ella Hodges; and by his brothers, William Ronald Hodges and George Thomas Hodges Sr.;
Richard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Ganofsky Hodges; by his sisters, Mary Lavenia Smith, and Gwendolyn Ann Hodges; and by his children, Pamela Taylor, Donna Slatten, David Diamond, and Cynthia Meador.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
