Ricky Deon McKinney, of League City, Texas, passed away at his home on November 2, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born on November 18, 1948, in Dimmitt, Texas, to William Ray “PeeWee” McKinney and Imogene McKinney.
Rick later moved to Bridge City, Texas, where he graduated from Bridge City High School in 1968. He went on to attend Lamar University before being drafted into the United States Army and stationed in Killeen, Texas. He served as a Technical Specialist and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman qualification.
Rick shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Carol Ann McKinney. Married on November 14, 1969, the two built a life together centered around love, friendship, family, and shared adventures. Best friends throughout their marriage, they traveled together on motorcycles and raised their two daughters in Pasadena, Texas.
Throughout his career, Rick worked as a structural designer for more than 40 years across several companies, taking pride in his profession. While he was dedicated to his work, he lived for the game of golf. After retiring to League City, he fulfilled his retirement dream of driving his golf cart to the course every day. Golf was his greatest passion, and he treasured both the game and the friendships he made along the way.
Above all, Rick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was deeply involved in his daughters’ lives, never missing a performance or sporting event and always serving as their biggest fan. He raised them to be fiercely independent and successful women and took great pride in the lives they built.
Rick was outgoing, strong-willed, and famously stubborn. He never met a stranger and loved talking to everyone. Whether catching up with an old friend or striking up a conversation with someone new, he had a way of making connections wherever he went. He loved fiercely, stood firmly in what he believed, and was always in the corner of the people who mattered most to him.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Ann McKinney; his daughters, Kimberly Lane Fockelmann and Lyndsi Rae Parker and her husband, Jeremy Ray Parker; and his cherished grandchildren, Evangeline Rae Parker and Isaac Ray Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray “PeeWee” McKinney and Imogene McKinney; his sister, Raylene Terrell; and his brother, Rocky McKinney.
Rick’s greatest legacy is the family he loved, the friendships he made, and the life he built with those closest to him. He will be remembered for his big personality, his unwavering support of his family, his love of golf, and his ability to make a friend wherever he went.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas on Monday, November 9, 2026 at 10:00 am.
