Shortly after his birth, Ronnie’s family relocated to Pasadena, Texas where Ronnie was a lifetime resident. Ronnie graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1968. He was a proud member of the first graduating class to attend Rayburn freshman through senior year. After graduation, Ronnie worked as foreman for Brown and Root. Ronnie loved to point out the numerous sections of highway in the Houston area that he built. During those years, Ronnie also served in the Air Force reserves as a staff sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1972. Ronnie finished his working years as an operator at Goodyear, retiring after working more than 30 years in their Houston facility. Ronnie was an avid fisherman and spent thousands of hours creating memories with family and friends on Texas waterways.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Gladys Brownlee and his brothers Larry Brownlee and Ricky Brownlee. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Shelia Brownlee; his son Neal Brownlee and his wife Cari; his son Shane Brownlee; his granddaughters Brianne, Emily, and Abigail Brownlee; and his grandson Brandon Brownlee.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be no memorial service at this time. A celebration of Ronnie’s life will occur at a later date. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that donations be sent to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Coastal Fisheries Management program.
