Rosie Lee Bennett, 75, of Dickinson, Texas passed away January 20, 2024. She was born in Galveston, Texas on December 21, 1948 to Santos S. and Rose Gonzales. She was married to Gary M. “ITT” Bennett for 34 years.
Rosie worked for Dickinson Post Office, as a rural rt. mail carrier, for 20 years. After her retirement, she was devoted to her family. She had a passion for gambling, music, dancing, joking around, church, giving to others in need, but most of all her family. Her biggest joy was spending time with her kids and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gary “ITT”, her parents, five sisters, four brothers, and numerous other family members and friends preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons, Gary Wayne Bennett (Maria); John Eric Bennett (Valeria); Christina Michelle O’Neal (Bobby); Grandchildren, Ace Monnett Bennett; Erica Alys Bennett (Kurt); John Gary Bennett; Tyler O’Neal (Mel); Bobby O’Neal, Jr. (Christa); Joey Butler (Tamara); Andy Butler (Brenda); great- grandchildren, Hannah and Maddux Butler; Leo and “soon to arrive” Alexander Butler. Rosie is also survived by her only Sister Gloria Gonzales. Rosie also leaves fond memories with her “double” sister-in-law, Sarah Gonzales Jimenez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy., Webster, TX 77598. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Committal service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Officiating will be Bishop Delbert Herrin. Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Bennett, John Bennett, Bobby O'Neal Sr., Joey Butler, Ace Bennett, Tyler O'Neal, Bobby O'Neal Jr., John G. Bennett, Stephen Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Burton, Larry Gonzales and Andy Butler.
