Ruby became one of my best friends when I joined the Schulenburg Shorthorns band in my sophomore year. I didn't have any musical experience on an instrument so the band director put me on the Tom Tom drums and cymbals. Ruby was very proficient on the snare drums. We loved going to the football games in the buses.
We were very close throughout our high school years. I had not seen her since our 55th class reunion and didn't know she was that ill.
I will miss her but so happy that I have a lot of memories of her throughout the years. God bless her family!
