She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Foster Winfield, and her husband of 36 years, Leroy Erskine Schultz.
Ruth retired from the Pasadena Independent School District where she taught first grade for forty years. She loved children and was a mentor and a positive influence to all with whom she came in contact. She did volunteer work for the Rose, KSBL, and Pasadena Pet Adoption Center and taught Bible school for many years.
She is survived by nieces, Lisa Cooper and her husband, of Newport News, West Virginia and Lori Loughry and her husband of Fort Worth, Texas; nephew, David Sherwood and his wife of Duncannon, Pennsylvania; five great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Grandview Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
