Sadye M. Meineke, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026. She was born on December 4, 1934, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, family, and just enough mischief to keep everyone smiling.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam Meineke; her parents, Zelma and Thomas; her sister, Ollie; and her brother, Tommy.
Sadye is survived by her children, Jerre "Bubba" Barron (Peggy), Brian Barron (Tamara), and Sherrye Bourgeois (Daniel); her stepdaughters, Debbie Zonana (Kevin) and Cheri Meineke (Greg); and her cherished grandchildren, Justin Barron, Brandi Barron, Jerred Barron, Kerre Barron, Lacey Darrington, Jeremy Faggard, Ryan Zonana, and Samantha Zonana, along with her beloved great-grandchildren.
Anyone who knew Sadye knew she lived life on her own terms. She loved trips to the casino, cheering on the Astros, sharing a glass of wine with dinner, and never went anywhere without lipstick. She adored her cat, Tiger, loved having her hair done just right, and was famous for keeping the telephone busy with family, friends, and the latest news—because if Sadye knew something, it wouldn't be long before everyone in her phonebook knew it too.
But above all else, Sadye loved her family, especially her beloved husband, Sam. If there was one place she was happiest, it was on the back of Sam's motorcycle, holding him tight as they chased the open road together. Those miles became a lifetime of memories, and their adventures reflected a love that never wavered.
Sadye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love, strength, humor, and unmistakable personality left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with the love of her life, Sam, and so many loved ones who went before her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a funeral service to start at 2:00 pm and a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
