Sam was married to the love of his life, Diana Whistler, for 48 years. Together they built a life grounded in faith, family, and enduring commitment.
Sam dedicated his career to Harris County as a Manager in the Facility and Property Management Division. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in his work. He lived with integrity and earned the respect of those around him through his actions.
Above all, Sam loved God and his family. He was a steady presence, a provider, and a man who led by example. His legacy is one of faith, integrity, and devotion to those he loved.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Ruth Whistler.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Whistler; his children and their spouses, Jonathan and Mollie, Stephen and Shelley, Sarah and David; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Nathan, Evie, and Jacob, along with extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.
