Sharon Louise was born April 28, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was raised in Omaha by her loving parents, George and Kathleen Station. She grew up as the only girl and middle sibling of two brothers. Sharon graduated from Omaha’s Central High School in 1964. In 1965 she married Gerald Brown, and in 1966 they welcomed their only child together, DeShawn.
Sharon worked in the Omaha Public School system for many years before landing a job with Northern Natural Gas. That job would eventually move her to Houston, Texas in 1987. With a realignment/merger, she was then working for Enron Corporation. She enjoyed a successful career at Enron and met some people that would become her lifelong friends. In 1998 she was thrilled that her daughter and family were moving to Houston.
After going through the collapse of Enron, Sharon bounced back and began working at Loren D. Stark Company – Retirement Plan Consultants. She again, enjoyed her 10 years there, met a couple of friends that she continued to keep in touch with after her retirement. Sharon’s biggest joy after retirement was spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen Station Curry and George V. Station.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughter, DeShawn Brown Fitzpatrick; brothers, Ronald Black and George Station (Christiane); grandchildren, Ericka and Draeton Fitzpatrick; Niece, Michelle Black, along with other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at HOPE Church Pearland, located at 4209 Broadway Street on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 am with Pastor Thaddeus R. Eastland officiating.
