Shirley was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her especially her family. She loved the beaches of the Gulf Coast, gardening and having time with her family. Shirley worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years starting with Jack Tar Hotels and working with Gal-Tex at many of their properties including opening South Shore Harbor as the Controller.
She is survived by her son, Michael Yates; daughter, Leslie Walls and her husband Gary; grandchildren, Amie Harding, Lewie Lamar, Kyle and Cody Yates; brother, Skipper Dodson; sister, Dot Wedes; and great grandchildren, Zeke Austin Fitzgerald and Meloni Lamar.
Service is on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:30pm at Forest Park East chapel, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
