Shirley Cornelius

Shirley Brenda Cornelius, 76, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed peacefully on July 30, 2011 with her loving family by her side. Shirley was born to the union of Frederic E. and Phyllis Bessie Gibbs on February 15th, 1935 in Southend on Sea, Essex England.

Shirley met and married Earl Cornelius, Master Sgt. in the US Air Force, in England then later transferred to the United States. Shirley enjoyed entertaining, cooking, and interior designing. She later pursued a career in graphic designing, eventually becoming an entrepreneur.

Shirley is preceded in death by spouse, Earl Cornelius, parents, and grandson, Little John Cornelius. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Linda Sue and husband John Christopher; son Freddie and wife Freda Cornelius. Grandchildren Sara Louise Atha and husband Jason, Jill Marie Cornelius and great granddaughter Brooklyn Hope Atha. Also left to mourn are sister Patricia Carter, brother Anthony Gibbs and several nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors on Monday 2PM, August 1, 2011 at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Tx. Funeral service will be at 3PM with final interment at Forest Park East Cemetery.
