Sylvia R. Guerra

Sylvia R. Guerra was born in Hidalgo, Tx on August 15, 1935. She went on to marry Otoniel Guerra Sr. in 1951 and had her first child in 1953. She raised her family of 4 girls and 5 boys proudly on the corner of James St. in the heart of Northside Houston, Tx where she lived out the rest of her life. Aside from being a mother, she was a very hardworking woman who ran her own crew installing hardware on the same jobsite as her husband until her mid 50's with her last hardware job being in Birmingham, Alabama until going back to work later on remodeling flood homes and building room additions for 5 years with her son Tony.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Otoniel Guerra Sr., her parents Albert Reyes & Guadalupe Reyes (Garza), her brother Albert Reyes Jr., her granddaughter Joanna Perez-Alvarez,

great grandson Adrian Alvarez, daughter n law Sandy Guerra & great great grandson Abraham "A.J." Diaz Jr.

She leaves behind her 9 children Joelda Rodriguez, Ester Garcia, Olivia Guerra, Roy Guerra, Rudolph Guerra, Richard Guerra, Otoniel "Tony" Guerra Jr., Robert Guerra, Sylvia Guerra-Perez, her 29 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren & 14 great great grandchildren. Sylvia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, on July 20, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary will take place at the same location on July 20, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm.

The funeral service is scheduled at Forest Park East Funeral Home on July 21, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A graveside service will follow on July 21, 2025, at the same venue.
