She was born on February 13, 1937, in Quincy, Illinois, to her loving parents Estile and Eva Mae Baker. Sylvia's life was marked by a diverse career and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Throughout her life, Sylvia held various roles, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to her work. She worked as a paralegal, a talented hairdresser, and a skilled secretary. She also served as a Spanish translator, facilitating communication and understanding among diverse communities. Sylvia's passion extended to the health and fitness industry, where she excelled in sales and marketing.
Sylvia's true calling, however, was her deep desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She was known for her compassionate nature and her eagerness to support and contribute to various causes. Sylvia's involvement in her family's interests was a testament to her unwavering love and dedication to those she held dear.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Estile and Eva Mae Baker, as well as her sisters, Rachel McClelland and Janeen Shupe.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kailani, Gina, and Tatiana, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Sylvia was also blessed with six grandchildren, Christopher, Tailina, Marcus, Nadia, Connor, DJ and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were recipients of her boundless affection and wisdom.
