Teodora Cantu Sandoval, 86, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2026. She was born at Hermann Hospital in Houston on July 5, 1939, to Rodolfo and Tomasa Cantu. Teodora was married to Juan A. Sandoval for 63 years.
A devoted homemaker and mother, Teodora gave of herself in quiet, steady ways—selfless in the everyday moments that build a family and resilient through life’s hardest turns. Her care was felt in the warmth of home, in her patient nurturing, and in the love she extended to those around her.
Teodora’s days were brightened by the simple joys she made her own: sewing, painting ceramics, reading, collecting and sharing recipes, and lots and lots of retail therapy. She enjoyed her coffee, kept up with her favorite soaps on TV, and—always with her own flair—listened to rap music. By her side was her soul dog, Nacho, also known as “Cheeky,” a cherished companion and constant comfort.
Teodora was preceded in death by her parents, Rodolfo and Tomasa Cantu; her brother, Arturo Cantu; her son, Elias Sandoval; and her husband, Juan A. Sandoval.
Teodora is survived by her brother and his spouse; her adult children and their spouses, Luis and Lili Cantu of San Antonio, John and Linda Sandoval of Houston, David and Soyla Wyckoff of Pearland, and Armando Sandoval of Houston; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Teodora will be remembered with gratitude and love—for the life she built, the strength she carried, and the enduring devotion she gave so freely.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 2:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. The family will welcome guests an hour prior.
