Thelma Pickens

Thelma Pickens was born on September 11, 1928, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She passed away on October 15, 2025, in League City, Texas at the sweet age of 97.

Thelma and Arch met while attending the University of Arkansas. They married in 1952 and had 2 daughters. Then they moved to Houston in 1960, opened a business and has remained here till her death.

After a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Thelma has joined her beloved husband of 73 years in eternal peace.

She is survived by daughter Shanon Lea Price (Jim), Son-in-law Gordon Atkins, her four grandchildren, Scott Atkins (Jessica), Laura Ellen Ladner (Joseph), Grant Prewitt Price (Jacquie), James Connor Price and her great-grandchildren Anastyn Mae Atkins, Austin Michael Atkins, Alexis Grace Burns, Aiden James Price, Ashton Tucker Price, and baby Ladner.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arch Pickens and her daughter Jo Ellen Atkins.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful Nurses, Caregivers and Administrators of the Crossings in League City.

There will be a graveside service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
