Thomas E. Crowley, 55, of Dickinson, passed away Friday May 3, 2013. Tom was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 6, 1958. He graduated from Dickinson High School in 1976 and attended the University of Texas at Austin.
Tom is survived by his partner of 23 years, Curtis Mayfield, his father James M. Crowley, brothers: James M. Crowley Jr. and his wife Jerrian, John M. Crowley, Robert S. Crowley and his wife Jennifer, sister Anne Crowley Longoria and her husband Otto. Nieces and nephews include Meghan O’Neal and her husband Daniel and son Kellan, Malcolm Crowley and Ashley Nicole Smith and son, Maddox, Erin and Lauren Crowley, Sophia Longoria, Esteban Longoria and his wife Abbye and their children Estella and Francisco, and Christopher Longoria.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Margaret Feeney Crowley and his brother, Patrick J. Crowley.
Tom was a passionate advocate for many causes, particularly public transportation for the disabled and needy. Tom was a determined debater, no matter which side of the issue, and was rarely indifferent on any subject. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
There will be a celebration of Tom’s life on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Tom’s memory to the Galveston Island Humane Society, 6814 Broadway, Galveston, TX 77554, the M. I. Lewis Food Pantry, PO Box 1542, Dickinson TX 77539, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.
