He enjoyed a 50-year career as a mechanical and electrical engineer in the oil and gas sector to support his family.
Tom was an avid bowler, serving for a time as president of the Houston Bowling Association. He was an active member in the early days of the fledgling Tarkington Volunteer Fire Department. Tom supported his hometown Houston sports, cheering on the Rockets, Oilers and later Texans, and of course the ‘Stros. A true Texan, he barbequed, including his famous brisket, grilled, and cooked, hosting large family events with Sharon for all major holidays and Sunday brunches. He enjoyed playing card games, video games, and board games of all kinds, to teach his children and grandchildren “lessons.”
Tom was a very sweet man who lived his life for the support and development of his family. He always knew what he wanted and made it happen. His family will never forget (or stop practicing) his dogged determination.
