

He leaves his wife after 58 years of marriage, Atrang Ho; his children: Cynthia Nguyen and her husband, Hung Pham, Damtrang Nguyen, Anh Nguyen and his wife, Julie Du, Liem Nguyen and his wife, Hoa Cung, five grandchildren, and many close friends
He was born and raised in Vinh Long, studied at Phan Thanh Gian in Can Tho, Collège Le Myre de Vilers in My Tho, and got his Master Degree in Mathematics in Toulouse, France.
After coming back from France, he became one of the first professors of Hue University. There he met his beloved wife. For a lot of his beloved students are from Hue University. His time at Hue was one of the happiest times in his life. In 1963, he was appointed General Director of Elementary and Secondary School of Vietnam, the youngest General Director at the time.
He served two terms as the Minister of Education of Vietnam during the transition period between First and Second Republic.
He was an active contributor to the establishment of the Can Tho University in 1966. He was also a teacher of the Hue University and the Saigon University, as well as a lecturer at Dalat University, Van Hanh University, and Cao Dai University. In 1992, he left Vietnam to join his children in the United States.
Truong spent his life reading, writing, and teaching, for he valued the knowledge that he learned and liked to share it with others. He enjoyed being surrounded by his beloved family and friends, who he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm and again Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Services will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
