During WWII, Velma worked at Childress Air Force Base in Randolph Field in San Antonio, TX and then moved to Houston, TX in 1947. She had a passion for horses and the outdoors. Velma was a lovely, compassionate lady.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Thomas, and parents Minnie and Norman Carter.
Velma is survived by her children Steve Beeth, Norman Dorsett, and Norma "Jeanie" Markel; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10 am at Forest Park East Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, TX.
