Walker proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy aboard an amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry. His time in service was one of his greatest honors, and he carried his patriotism and love of country with him throughout his life.
He is survived by his cherished daughters, Kyla Knight and Kelsie Lutz; his treasured son, Coleton Knight; and their devoted mother, Stephanie Knight. He also leaves behind his respected and beloved son-in-law, Jay Lutz. In addition, he is survived by his loving parents, Stewart and Michael Knight; his sister, Debra Butler; and his devoted nephew, Cameron Butler.
Walker was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Knight; his grandfather, Melvin Knight; and his grandmother, Maxine Knight.
Walker was full of life—spontaneous, loyal, and loving. He was always on the go, brimming with energy and ideas. He found joy in planning last-minute fun for family and friends, playing board games, and sharing laughter with those around him. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Fishing, in particular, was his passion—whether deep-sea offshore, casting in the bay, or sitting quietly alone with a line in the water, it brought him peace and reflection. Walker also loved history and music and was an avid reader of non fiction books.
Above all, Walker will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his loyalty to those he cared about, and his zest for life. His spirit, warmth, and energy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Although a private memorial service will be held by the family, we invite you to celebrate James's life by sharing your memories and condolences below. Embrace the adventurous spirit of the vibrant man who touched the lives of so many.
