Walter passed away at home on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 after suffering a debilitating fall with head injuries on May 19th. He fought hard to recover, but was unable to overcome the effects of his injuries.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bernice Kubosh; children, Jeff Kubosh, Theresa Lewis and Frank Kubosh; brother, Ernest L. Kubosh; grandchildren, Keith Kubosh, Heather Ramsey and Nathan Lewis.
Walter enlisted in the United States Army on April 26, 1943 and served in World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. He was honorably discharged on February 15, 1946 at the rank of Corporal. Army Funeral Honors will be rendered at the graveside service.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Forest Park East Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Ralph Hobratschk officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
