Wanda Louise Dowdy

Wanda Louise Dowdy - age 75 of Gallatin, Missouri passed away Monday afternoon, December 27, 2021 at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, Missouri. Wanda was born on January 2, 1946, the daughter of Earl H. and Nannie Louise (Taylor) Dowdy in Texas City, Texas. She grew up La Marque, Texas and attended school there. Wanda was baptized at the Church of Christ in Texas City and was a member there. Prior to moving to Gallatin, she had lived in the Kansas City area. She was very creative and loved to shop, particularly online. Wanda loved horses and her dogs: Amy, Sophie and Nellie Jo. She was caring, loving and always smiling. Wanda could be spunky and ornery. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Guenther; brothers, Charles Dowdy and Kenneth Dowdy; and her nephews, Billy Dowdy, Monte Dowdy.

She is survived by her children; Susan Renee Upchurch of Sarasota, Florida, Richard Dean Toeneboehn of Gallatin, Missouri, and Michael Scott Toeneboehn (Heather) of Auburn, Alabama; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Harold Dowdy of Montgomery, Texas, and Gracie Dowdy, Texas; nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cameron Veterans Home Assistance League. A visitation for Wanda will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the family.
