

Bill was reared in and attended school in Roanoke and upon graduation from high school enlisted in the US Navy and served on a LST as a radio man. After the war Bill returned to Roanoke where he went back to high school for refresher courses, then enrolled in Roanoke College in Salem Virginia, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
While in college, Bill met and married the love of his life Marion Helen (Kib) Kibler. November 2, 1951. To this union was born Mary Leigh and Susan. Upon his graduation, Bill went to work for Hercules Chemical Company as a chemist and spent his entire career with them. From 1951 until 1969 Bill worked in Hercules’s Rocket Fuel Development Program, at the Radford Arsenal in Roanoke, Virginia, then Allegany Ballistics Laboratory outside of Cumberland, Maryland. In 1969 Bill was transferred into Hercules Polymer Division where he worked as QAQC Manger, working in Lake Charles, Louisiana, La Porte, Texas, Budapest Hungary and Terre Haute, Indiana, where he retired after 35 years of service. Upon his retirement, he and Kib moved to League City, Texas to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren.
Bill was a devoted Christian, attending the Presbyterian Church wherever they lived and sang in the choir. His last Church was St Stephens in Houston where he sang in the choir well into his 90’s. He served as a member of the session and through their food pantry delivering food to those in need. Bill’s family meant everything to him, it didn’t matter what or where, if one of his daughters, grandchild or great-grandchild needed his help or was involved in a program he was there for them. Bill loved to travel, work in his yard and enjoyed a good meal.
Bill is survived by his daughters; Mary Leigh Wicks, Susan James and husband Tommy, grandchildren & great-grandchildren; Lidia Joseph and husband Andie, Eriq, Maddie and Elijah, Megan Campagna and husband Steve, Stevie and Jackson., Will Wicks and wife Jessica, Addyson and Taryn. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 50 yrs, Marion “Kib” Lynch, parents John Will and Angie Lynch, sisters Christine Guilfoyle and Anges Cook.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 18th from 5 to 8pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, Webster, Texas Funeral Service are being held March 19th at 2 pm at Forest Park East in Webster, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a memorial donation is made in Bill’s honor to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
