Bill was born in Houston, Texas, served in the United States Navy, which he loved. After leaving the Navy, he worked in the steel industry as a foreman, estimator, and salesman. He was a natural-born salesperson and loved meeting new people.
Fishing was something he passed on to his children and grandchildren and more than not was often relegated to taking the fish off the hook and cleaning them. He was happiest when others caught fish and he could see their joy. Bill was also a talented craftsman and generous with his woodworking projects.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mimi Stiers and parents Mr. and Mrs. LH Stiers. He is survived by his daughter Karey Clements, her husband Chris Clements, granddaughter Sydney Clements; and daughter Leanne Stiers, her wife Angela Martinez and grandson Parker Stiers.
Mimi passed away during COVID lockdown in 2020 and a funeral service was not possible at the time. Therefore, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life for both Mimi and Bill at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made to Jamaica Beach Volunteer Fire Department and fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Stiers family.
