William worked in the paper industry for 40 years. He first started on paper machines and worked his way up to the Mill Manager. His worked had him traveling all over and he lived in Crossett, Arkansas, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Monroe, Louisiana, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Clear Lake City, Texas, and League City, Texas.
William was known as a thoughtful and dedicated gentleman. While he tended to play by the rules, he did bend them from time to time. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and following the stock market. He was an excellent father, a loving husband, and a good friend to many. William was a gentle giant.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Madeline Willis, sister Joyce Gill, and wife Dorothy Willis.
He is survived by his brother Doyle Willis of Bacliff, Texas, daughters Tina Willis of League City, Texas and Cara Trippe of San Leon, Texas and sons Brad Willis of Bacliff, Texas and Scott Willis of League City, Texas. He also leaves behind grandchildren David Boyd, Cody Dillon, Josh Willis, Sydney Willis, and Brittney Willis as well as four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Monday, April 19 at 10:00AM at Forest Park East Cemetery.
