

He married Hinh Le in 1946. The couple together built a family of ten children. Their union remained, 80 years later, until Hinh Le passed away a year earlier, also at the age of 97.
Yeng Van began his work and life journey as a paratrooper in the French Military of Vietnam. He was a sergeant, and he performed military communications – in morse code, Vietnamese, or French – for his unit. He left the military when Geneva Convention took effect (1954) and transitioned into a civil servant. He worked for several city halls in/near Quang Nam Province until the fall of the Republic of Vietnam (AKA South Vietnam) to the North or the Communist Vietnam in April 1975.
Yeng Van and his family ventured to the open sea for freedom on the day the South collapsed. The family was rescued by the US Navy and later accepted as refugees, settling in Tulsa, Ok by the sponsorship of Red Fork Baptist Church of Tulsa.
Yeng Van was offered and first worked as the custodian for the church. He later attended Tulsa Junior College and became a certified bookkeeper. He worked for the 4th National Bank of Tulsa (now is part of BOA) until he retired in 1995.
He was baptized and became a devoted Baptist in 1975.
He was preceded in death by his four (4) siblings, wife Hinh Le, their only daughter Lynn Van Leosewski, and youngest son Kyle (Du) Van.
He is survived by eight (8) sons – Manh, Tom (Thuong), Tanh, Doan (Duong), Victor (Hoa), Michael (Mao), Ty, and Mui Van – and their families.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with a funeral service to start at 2:00 pm and a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
