Bruce was born on October 21, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY. As a child, Bruce’s parents took him to Cape Cod which began his lifelong passion for the Outer Cape and a commitment to spending as much time on the sandy shores as possible. Bruce graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 1965. In 1967 while attending SUNY law in Buffalo, he met the love of his life, Claudia (nee Kowal) and they married three months later, on January 13, 1968.
Bruce went on to a distinguished career as an attorney, first in Western New York and then as a co-founder of a law firm in Chicago where he and his family relocated in 1979. In 1991, the family relocated to Long Island where he continued his legal career as managing partner in a large firm. Bruce retired in 2000 to take up permanent residence in Wellfleet where he and Claudia had maintained a home for years.
Bruce was a gifted orator who used his talents to tell a joke, a story or answer a question. A voracious reader who loved to learn, Bruce loved the opportunity to engage in discussions with anyone he met and made friends easily. For the last 20 years, Bruce was a devoted resident of Wellfleet and served on the Zoning Board. He exercised regularly and enjoyed walked with his friends and helping Claudia in her remarkable garden. After decades of wearing a suit and tie, Bruce was free to wear his crocs and t-shirts; he loved blues music, New England sports, entertaining and his family. He and Claudia were accomplished scuba divers who traveled the world, stepping off the beaten path to explore many cultures and foods. When he wasn’t on the Cape or globe-trotting, Bruce could be found in Chicago visiting his daughters and grandchildren.
Bruce Drucker is survived by his wife of 52 years, Claudia, his daughters Rachel Drucker (div. Beyler) and Bethany Drucker and his grandchildren, Kurt and Veronica Beyler.
