I was shocked to learn of Caroline's death  she was a friend of long standing  I looked forward to seeing her whenever she was in NYC  or on the cape

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Caroline's death. She was a wonderful caring generous incredibly wise and intelligent neighbor and friend in Truro. I can't imagine being in Truro without her next door. She will be so missed.

This was such a shock -- I'd just gotten a card from her last month.  I had been hoping to see her again this year.

Can't believe you are gone.  Had been trying to get hold of you for our pre opera dinner on Jan 11th.  Knew something was wrong when no answer- -and so so sorry for finding out what it was.  Will miss our dinners, ballet excursions and museum trips.  Thanks for your friendship these few years.  Will miss you!!! God rest!

Although I hadn't seen Carolyn in many years, her death came nevertheless as a shock. We shared a house at Fire Island for several summers in the 1980s. I admired her fierce intelligence and even fiercer idealism. I'm so glad to know that she was still living on the Cape and helping to support affordable housing.

Caroline was a great, caring friend of many years, generous of heart and a savvy, insightful citizen. We relished her company in New York and her sweet home in Truro. We will miss her. Dan and Bettyann Kevles
