Edward G. Vitale of Wellfleet, known to all as Ted, passed away May 1st 2020 at age 56 after his second, valiant battle with cancer. Ted was a professional actor and singer. He has been on several national tours including playing the lead role in the 20th anniversary tour of Hair. Ted has performed on a major stage in every one of the contiguous forty- eight states, Over the past 25 years, he has produced, directed, performed or designed much of the theater that has been presented on Cape Cod, holding Artistic Director, Technical Director, Producer, and Managing Director titles at theater companies in Chatham, Harwich, Orleans, Wellfleet, and Provincetown. For several years he served as Adjunct Professor, teaching Stagecraft, at Cape Cod Community College. Just last spring he appeared at the Harwich Theatre as Dr. Bob in Bill W. and Dr. Bob and as Charlemagne in Pippin. Ted was a devoted son, brother, husband and father. He leaves behind his beloved wife Pam Bergeron, his son Dante, father Al, stepmother Marilyn, and siblings Jack, Dan, Gina, Sharron, Terri, and Steve, as well as many nephews, and nieces. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Your Theatre, Inc., 136 Rivet Street, New Bedford, MA 02740.
