

Marinna Matricardi, 89, of Truro, Massachusetts passed away April 16. She was born in Riccione, Italy, on June 26, 1935 and emigrated to the United States in 1951. She was a lifelong artist, obtaining degrees from Cooper Union Art School in New York, NY and a Master of Fine Art from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She moved to Truro in 1977 and never left the Cape because of its year-round beauty. Marinna exhibited her work at the Castle Hill Art Center, the Cape Cod Conservatory of Music and Art and taught fine arts courses at the Philadelphia College of Art, the Cape Cod Conservatory of Music and Art and at Castle Hill Art School. She was a real estate broker at Pamet Realty Associates and served for many years as a member of the Town of Truro Zoning Board of Appeals, resigning in 2014.
Marinna is predeceased by her husband Alfred K. (“Okie”) Souza and her sister, Beatrice Reinhold, and is survived by her brothers, Victor Matricardi and Fred Matricardi, her children Daniela Infield & Joseph Tuohy (spouse), Marc Infield & Cristina Chan (spouse) and her grandchildren Alexander Infield, Julian Infield and Liam Tuohy, and her poodle Pepper. She loved taking long walks on Ballston and Long Nook beaches over the years with her dogs. Marinna had many good friends and enjoyed spending time with all of them and enjoying life to its fullest. She was selfless and always helped others throughout her life - her family recalls her bringing home “strays” for dinner on many occasions. Marinna was a talented artist working in bronze and rope, painting, drawing, watercolor, pen and ink, cardboard and wood.
Burial will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, Provincetown, MA at 10:00 AM on May 22, 2025. A memorial for Marinna will be held at the Pamet Harbor Yacht Club, 7 Yacht Club Road, Truro, MA on May 22, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm.
