Paul was born in Woolton England, a suburb of Liverpool, and grew up in England, Canada, and later Canton Ohio where he graduated from Ohio State University. His family moved from the UK after his father completed military service during World War II. Paul was involved in theater and drama programs at Ohio State, and always an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Paul traveled back to the UK in 1975 where he met his future wife at a party. He recognized that she would provide him with a life of love and many challenges and boy was he right! It didn't take long for Mandy to agree to marry Paul and shortly afterwards they moved to New York City in 1976. They lived and worked there for many years and in 1983 started a family and moved to Yorktown Heights, New York. On vacations to the Cape, Paul discovered Wellfleet, where he found his true home among Cape Cod's natural beauty and art-driven culture, moving here in 1993. He opened the Lightwater Gallery on Commercial St. in Wellfleet for a few years in the mid 90's, before joining his wife helping with bookkeeping at Cape Shores Real Estate on Main Street.
He retired for the last time in 2023, where he continued his retirement activities of reading, writing poetry, playing his guitar, drawing, sleeping in his armchair, and driving his red Toyota MR2 around town. The ultimate family man, Paul spent many years homeschooling his youngest son Blake, and looking after his grand-daughter Kate after school. Paul was a lover of felines, birds, nature walks, and was an honorary member of his local murder of crows.
A literary mind, Paul was soft-spoken with a dry sense of humor and a very keen wit. Making his family and especially his grand-daughters laugh was his true joy.
Paul is survived by his wife, Mandy, his children: Myles (wife Malene), his daughter Victoria and son Blake (engaged to Julia Forbes). Along with his granddaughters Kate, Grace and Lea who will really miss their Papa.
Sincerest gratitude to everyone who took such good care of Paul after his stroke at Boston Medical Center, Encompass Acute Rehab hospital in Braintree and the staff at Broadreach Health - Liberty Commons in Chatham where Paul spent his final months working hard on his rehab.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Paul's memory to Wildcare Orleans, Special Olympics, or Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
