Pearl M Johnson

Wife of Joseph H. Johnson, Jr, deceased in 2003

Pearl was born in Millbury, MA. She lived there and raised her family for many years before moving to Rocky Hill, CT, where she met Joe, and then later to Glastonbury, CT until she and Joe retired and built their dream house in Wellfleet, MA. While living in CT, she was the General Manager of the Commercial Record, a state-wide weekly business newspaper, and worked at H&R Block for many years.

She was so happy when they moved to Wellfleet. She loved the Cape, the beaches, the wildlife, her church, and her town. When they retired there, she and Joe both worked at H&R Block in Orleans for several years, and they we both very active at the First Congregational Church of Wellfleet. She held the positions of Deacon, Financial Secretary and Moderator at the church. She also worked at the Wellfleet Town Hall, in the Tax Collector’s and the Assessor’s Offices. She was also a former Treasurer at the Wellfleet Historical Society.

• Philip M. Johnson and his wife Linda Johnson, of Charlton, MA

• Jennifer L. Foote and her husband Jonathan Foote, of East Hartford, CT

• Carla L. Johnson-Chaney and her husband Robert F. Chaney, of High Point NC

Her Brother:

• Wayne T. Ethier and his wife Alanna L. Ethier, of Florida

She also leaves behind many wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephews.

A private burial will be held at the Oakdale Cemetery in Wellfleet, MA. Family requests no flowers. Donations may be made in Pearl’s memory to the First Congregational Church of Wellfleet: www.wellfleetchurch.org
