Steven J. Sollog

August 11, 1951 – July 5, 2024
Obituary of Steven J. Sollog
IN THE CARE OF

Nickerson Funeral Home

Steven J. Sollog (72), of Truro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Tuck), their children, Jessie Sollog, Luke Sollog and Noah Sollog and his wife Jessica, and grandchildren, Regina Tamney and Ottis Sollog.

Steven was born on August 11, 1951 to Fred and Erna Sollog (Lohse) in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Franklin Square, New York, along with his five brothers and sisters, who survive him.

Steven was a naturally talented musician and played piano all of his life, whether on a stage, in a church, in a band or in the basement. Music was a lifelong passion for him, which was clear to anyone who heard him play.

For his professional career, Steven followed his father’s footsteps into the elevator construction industry and was a member of IUEC, Local One in New York City for thirty years. When he retired in 2012, Bonnie and Steve moved from Long Island to the summer house they had built together on Cape Cod. He spent his time working in his garden, painting, and of course, playing the piano.

Steve served on the Truro Planning Board for 8 years, and was Chair for 3 of those years. He conducted meetings with exemplary patience and good manners and was beloved for his fairness and wonderful sense of humor.

Steve will be missed for his sardonic sense of humor, intelligence and charm. He lived a full life replete with love, companionship and good times, and will be deeply missed.
