Theodore Moran

Born in Cambridge, MA, on March 31, 1936, Tedo was the beloved son of the late Donald P. and Mary B. Moran. He spent his life deeply connected to the waters and shores of Cape Cod. In his youth, Tedo worked a variety of local jobs alongside lifelong friends, including commercial fishing and scalloping. He later dedicated many years of service to the Town of Wellfleet, working for both the Department of Public Works and as the Assistant Harbormaster at Wellfleet Harbor a role that perfectly suited his love for the sea.

Tedo will be long remembered for his wonderfully salty character, mirroring the coastal town he loved so dearly. He had Wellfleet at it's best. He was a true, old-school Wellfleetian who lived life entirely on his own terms; as his family lovingly recalls, "he could never get the sand out of his shoes." Above all, Tedo will be remembered for the fierce love, loyalty, and joy he shared with his family and close friends.

He is survived by his brother James Moran and his wife Jean and sister Alicia Dillon and her husband John. He is predeceased by his brother Donald P Moran Jr. Also survived by his loving nieces and nephews Catherine and her husband Brendan, Jacqueline and her husband Robert, John Jr. and his wife Sharon, and Stephen and his wife Cassandra, Emily and her partner William, and Katherine Ann and her husband Michael. In addition he was loved by his great nieces and great nephews Erin, Caitlin, Mary Rose, Claire, Liam, James, and Jack. Also he was loved by his great great nephew James.

A visitation will be held on Sunday July 5th from 2pm to 4pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 340 Main St, Wellfleet, MA 02667. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans MA at 10am on Monday July 6th. The burial will be private.

We would like to thank all those at the Wellfleet Senior Center and those at the Wellfleet Fire and Police Departments for the love and care that they showed to him over the years.
