William (Bill) died peacefully at home on December 23, 2023, with his wife of 60 years, Pat, by his side, after a long illness. Bill helped his father and brothers build the house he was living in at the time of his death. In October 1987 he moved year-round to Wellfleet, and immediately began working at Mid-Cape Home Center, Orleans. He was the "Paint Man", he enjoyed his work and the people that he worked with. This past November 2023, he finally retired after 36 years.
Bill loved dogs, had many over the years, and in recent years after he would come home from work, he would go down to the garage, enjoy a beer and cigar and wait for his "doggie friends" to go by on their way to the beach so he could give them treats. Bill served as an usher at Our Lady of Lourdes, Catholic Church in Wellfleet for many years. He was a proud member of the American Legion, Wellfleet Post 287, where he held the position of chaplain for 4 years. The activities he enjoyed most was, Surf fishing, making his own rods. As well as, hunting for oysters, eating just not opening them!
Bill was a Father of four, Grandfather of seven and soon to be a Great-Grandfather of one - (baby girl in June). He was predeceased by his Dad & Mom, Edward & Marion Roach of Dorchester, his brothers, Edward "Ned" and James Roach of Arlington.

A funeral mass in Bill's honor will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 2282 Route 6, Wellfleet, MA on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A committal service will conclude on the same day at the Holy Trinity Memorial Wall, 246 Main Street, West Harwich, MA.
