Audrey May Cowan Dawson

Reunited with her devoted husband of 42 years Peter (1994).

Loving mother of Craig, and Mumsy to his husband Rick Belanger. She will be greatly missed by her very well-fed and furry grandpups Vegas and Boomer.

Loving sister of Allan Cowan and his wife Joy. Predeceased by brothers Grant, Bruce, and Leonard.

From dancing with girlfriends at Sunnyside in the 30's to working at Eaton’s in the millinery department, to marrying Peter in 1952 and becoming a dedicated wife and mother - Audrey was an exceptionally giving and generous sole. She spent 25 years with the Pink Ladies at Scarborough General Hospital and countless hours teaching crafts to children when Craig was in elementary school. Her past 20 years focused on being the center of our neighborhood’s annual garage sale chatting with everyone and feeding her birds and the fish in the pond. She never moved faster than when asked if she would "like to go to Rama" where she spent hours playing her favorite nickel slots and always came back a winner (as she was in life).

Family and friends will be received at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Avenue East on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 1:00-2:00pm with a short service at 2:00pm. If desired, donations may be made to The Funeral Advisory and Memorial Society (formerly the Toronto Memorial Society).
