

We are deeply saddened by the sudden and peaceful passing of Betadelle "Betty" Lucetta Shepherd (nee Gooden) on Tuesday, February 18th, surrounded by her loving family. Her departure has left a profound void in our hearts, but her enduring love continues to shine brightly.
Betty is survived by her children, Margot Charmaine Shepherd, Delia Rosanna Shepherd, and Colin Wayne Shepherd, and grandchildren Betty Spurgeon, Madeleine Spurgeon, Carter MacVicar and Sasha Davor Eyre Shepherd. Who will forever cherish the love and wisdom she imparted. Her memory will also be lovingly held by all her family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her vibrant and caring nature.
Betty was a dedicated wife, a nurturing mother and grandmother, and a treasured friend to countless people all around the world. She drew comfort from scripture, embodying the principle that actions speak louder than words. Renowned for her kindness and humility, she always prioritized the well-being of others above her own. Born in Jamaica, Betty's journey took her to England and Germany before she found her permanent home in Canada, exploring the world over her 88 remarkable years.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, located at 4115 Lawrence Avenue E., for viewings on Monday, February 24th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Tuesday, February 25th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A service celebrating Betty’s life will follow on Tuesday at 12:00 PM.
